We been hearing about Emerging Kerala since last month and almost everybody discussing about its future.. Without Power No developments can happen.
We all very well know that no new projects are coming to kerala. Since 1985 ( the biggest HEP in kerala IDUKKI) no further developments happened in our generation wing except some SHEP and thermal projects.
So where are we heading to?? Are we going to take up this new power demand by calling it Emerging Kerala?? Hope we will be able to add another 500 MW within this period!!!!!
PS: Metro Rail projects and IT projects will demand more projects since it attracts most of the people

Malayalees are more interested in discussions , especiaiiy in "vivadham".All the projects are kept in wardrobes after detailed discussions by politicians and discussions in the visual medias. All private participating projects are objecting by visual medias , even though they are not considering that they are private firms.
Now we are aware about 2G scam, Coal Gate scam etc. the loss to the nation by avoiding auction for licences. The licence for visual media was with the Govt.Owned Doordarsan , as a policy change this licence given to private firms also , just think that these lecences are auctioned, our Nation will get lakhs of crores because there are more than 3000 channels today. Now all visual medias are criticising Emerging Kerala, Why?thgese medias are getting advt. from indian companies , so they have to protect indian companies .
As far as electricity is concerned all interested in discussing about huge projects and we are happy if we can discuss it for 20 years, we are discussing about Athirappily for last 15 years, there are 500MW Hydel Projects with clearance, but nobody interested to complete these projects, even projects started in 2003 are still in cold storage.Every body thinks to solve the power crisis by purchasing power from outside Kerala. How far we can purchase power from outside, our interstate grid capacity is only 1600 MW with 26 MU , our demand is 58 MU with 3200MW,our hydel generation nowadays is only 20 MU, so we will force to purchase power from NTPC Kayamkulam, Reliance EKM, and KPCL Kasaragod .If somebody takes interest to complete the hydel project which have clearances, KSEB can Produce1700 MU of energy in addition to the existing projects in a year instead of quarelling about Athirappilly.LNG proposal of BDPP & KDPP, NTPC and solar projects also can help the Emerging Kerala.

Yes , now world is thinking mostly about renewable energy sources.. And we know that WIND , Solar and tidal are the best to save the environment. Before someone take our role in generation we have to act. Hope to see more projects before kerala hit the era of EMERGING kerala
