തിരുവനന്തപുരം: വൈദ്യുതിബില് അടയ്ക്കാന് ഓണ്ലൈന് സംവിധാനം നിലവില് വന്നു. ഇന്റര്നെറ്റ് വഴി നെറ്റ് ബാങ്കിങ്ങിലൂടെയും ഡെബിറ്റ്,ക്രെഡിറ്റ് കാര്ഡുകള് വഴിയും പണമടയ്ക്കാം.
വൈദ്യുതിബോര്ഡിന്റെ വെബ്സൈറ്റായ http://www.kseb.in' പേ ബില്സ് ഓണ്ലൈന്' എന്ന ലിങ്ക് വഴി എല്ലാ ഇലക്ട്രിക്കല് സെക്ഷനിലുള്ളവര്ക്കും ഇത്തരത്തില് പണമടയ്ക്കാം. എസ്.ബി.ഐ, എസ്.ബി.ടി, ഫെഡറല് ബാങ്ക്, കനറാ ബാങ്ക് തുടങ്ങി 36 ബാങ്കുകളില് നെറ്റ് ബാങ്കിങ് അക്കൗണ്ടുള്ളവര്ക്ക് ഈ സംവിധാനം ഉപയോഗിക്കാം.
വൈദ്യുതി ബില് അടയേ്ക്കണ്ട സെക്ഷന് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് കണ്സ്യൂമര് നമ്പരും അടയേ്ക്കണ്ട ബില്ലിന്റെ നമ്പരും ഇ-മെയിലോ മൊബൈല് നമ്പരോ നല്കിയാല് ബില്ത്തുക ഓണ്ലൈനായി അടയ്ക്കാം. ബില് അടച്ചതിന്റെ വിശദാംശങ്ങള് എസ്.എം.എസ്സായും ഇ-മെയിലിലും ലഭിക്കും. പണമടച്ചതിന്റെ വിവരങ്ങളുടെ പ്രിന്റ് ഔട്ട് എടുക്കാം.
പണമടച്ചവരുടെ വിശദാംശങ്ങള് അടുത്തദിവസം തന്നെ ഇലക്ട്രിക്കല് സെക്ഷന് ഓഫീസില് അറിയിക്കും. ബില്ലില് വൈദ്യുതി ബന്ധം വിച്ഛേദിക്കുന്നതിന് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള തീയതിക്ക് രണ്ടുദിവസം മുമ്പ് വരെ ഓണ്ലൈനായി പണമടയ്ക്കാം.
ഈ സംവിധാനത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 11 ന് കനകക്കുന്ന് കൊട്ടാരത്തില് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ഉമ്മന്ചാണ്ടി നിര്വഹിക്കും. കെ. മുരളീധരന് എം.എല്.എ. അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിക്കും.
വൈദ്യുതി കണക്ഷനുള്ള അപേക്ഷയും മറ്റ് സേവനങ്ങള്ക്ക് പണമടയ്ക്കുന്നതും ഓണ്ലൈനാക്കാന് നടപടികള് തുടങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും വൈദ്യുതി ബോര്ഡ് അറിയിച്ചു.

Its a great initiative. But I think we need to have a strong a protected gateway and HTTPS scheme. We can not ignore the use of HTTP secured protocol while sending highly vulnerable credentials.
More importantly handling our user connections and reliability of our site and etc. Could see that site has experienced some data connectivity error with Postgress SQL and hanged by now.

User must be confused by seeing this error. Instead we could display a user friendly message!!

HTTPS is especially important over unencrypted networks (such as WiFi), as anyone on the same local network can "packet sniff" and discover sensitive information. Additionally, many free to use and even paid for WLAN networks do packet injection for serving their own ads on webpages or just for pranks, however this can be exploited maliciously e.g. by injecting malware and spying on users.
