Power Factor (PF) correction capacitors are widely used to improve power factor and to obtain increased power efficiency. Common industrial & commercial loads are inductive and consumes reactive power to deliver active power which in turn reduce the power factor. By improving power factor significant saving in energy cost can be achieved by avoiding PF penalty.
At present almost all the loads are highly non-linear and harmonic rich. Providing power factor correction capacitors in such environment is highly challenging.
This webinar discusses these challenges and it's remedies.
