The state level competition of Dr. A. P .J. Abdul Kalam energy quiz competition was held on 15/10/2016 on birth day of our former President of India , His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at SAINTGITS College of Engineering. The Quiz competition was jointly organized by KSEB Engineers Association and Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of SAINTGITS College of Engineering , Kottayam. Dr.V. Narayanan Associate Director, ISRO, LPSC Trivandrum was the chief guest of the programme.
The Inaugural meeting commenced at 10.30 am. The meeting was presided over by Dr. E. Mohammed Shereef, President, KSEBEA. Dr. V Narayanan Inagurated the meeting by lighting the lamp and delivered the inaugural address. During his talk, he shared his own experience with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. He also discussed in brief about the growth of ISRO since his joining. He motivated the young minds presented over there with his brainstorming words. Er. C. P. George, Chairman, KSEBEA, Kottayam Unit and Principal Dr. M C Philipose delivered talk. The chief guest was presented with a memento on behalf of KSEBEA and SAINTGITS by Lt. Col. John Jacob. Dr. Jaimol Thomas delivered the vote of thanks.
13 teams from various engineering colleges in Kerala participated in the competition.

State Level Competition on 15th October
SAINTGITS College of Engineering, Kottayam
12 teams have qualified for the State Level Completion this year. There shall be a written Preliminary round to short list the participants to six numbers. The questions shall be shown as Power point presentations. There shall be a total of 25 questions and the time allotted is approximately 20 minutes.
The second and final round of the competition is an oral on-stage program. The six selected teams shall be competing in this round.
Questions shall be from a wide range of subjects basically related to Energy and Engineers. Questions shall be from the field of Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electrical Energy and the Rules and Regulation governing this field. A few questions shall be from Basic Electrical Engineering, General Knowledge, Current affairs and the entertainment sector such as cinema, songs etc.
RULES
THIS AUDIO VISUAL QUIZ SHALL HAVE SIX ROUNDS OF 6 QUESTIONS EACH.
IN THE FIRST THREE ROUNDS, QUESTIONS WILL BE ASKED FROM TEAM A TO TEAM F.
IN THE NEXT THREE ROUNDS, THE SEQUENCE SHALL BE REVERSED.
ANSWER TO EACH DIRECT QUESTION CARRY TEN MARKS.
THOSE WHO ANSWER THE PASSED QUESTION SHALL GET FIVE POINTS.
NO NEGATIVE MARKS.
QUIZ MASTER’S DECISION SHALL BE FINAL.

All B.Tech students studying in Engineering colleges in Kerala are eligible to participate.

Instruction to the candidates
- Team means two students from the same college.
- Only B.Tech students,(any branch, any semester) are allowed to participate.
- Online registration is necessary for participating. No other from registration is acceptable.
- Note down the registration id (Example ( ALP) 101). This will be displayed after submitting your registration.
- Mere registration does not guarantee your candidature in the Quiz Competition. If you are shortlisted, you will get confirmation & Invitation from the respective KSEBEA unit for presentation. You may contact respective unit Quiz coordinators or Unit Secretary, if you fail to get confirmation in a reasonable time.
- The District Level Competitions are Online.One team from each District will be selected for State Level Competition.
- For State level Competition, Candidates are required to bring Bonafide Student Certificate from the head of the Institution along with Original and Valid College ID card of all the team members.
- Failing to produce the documents in original and not reporting at the venue in time will lead to exclusion from seminar presentation.
- The Schedule and Venue for district level competition will be intimate to you through your faculty Mentor. Please visit the website and check the registered e-mail for updates.
